With a flood of announcements including live performance timetables and information on 350 vendors, the excitement is building for Mori, Michi, Ichiba 2019, held from the end of this month.
Because it is a festival on a scale impossible to see in just one day, we recommend staying overnight to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. However, official campsite tickets are so popular that they sell out in an instant the moment they go on sale at the end of the year. Clearly, everyone knows how great it is to camp at Mori-Michi.
As I mentioned at the recent information session, the advantage of camping at Mori-Michi is that you get to enjoy the venue at night and in the morning, when it's free of the general crowds!
You can still make it with bicycle camping
While general camping tickets are already sold out, bicycle camping tickets are still on sale (until 24:00 on Sunday the 26th).
And what makes this bicycle camping area amazing is that it utilizes a vacation home residential area adjacent to the event site.
The SHARES Laguna Gamagori, located between the Mori-Michi venue and the parking lot, will be the bicycle camping site this time. It’s a quick bike ride to the venue. We have also rented two vacation homes, so you can use the baths, toilets, and kitchens.
Tents will be set up in the spacious grassy garden within the vacation home area. There are 2x2m areas for solo tents and 5x5m areas for tents for three or more people.
While the assumption is that you will arrive by bicycle, you can use this area if at least one person in your family or group arrives by bike. There is no parking available, so you could drop off your gear and then park your car at a remote lot and cycle back from there.
Operations for the camping area are basically the same as the regular Mori-Michi campsite. However, open flames are not allowed. Please also be sure to carefully read the Mori-Michi guidelines.
Tent rentals are also available
Camping in a comfortable vacation home area—it's enjoyable for beginners, but you will at least need a tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping pad. If you want to try bike-packing in the future, it can be hard to know what kind of tent to buy.
Therefore, we are holding a "Bike-Packing Tent Trade Fair" where you can borrow tents from various manufacturers recommended by Circles. Of course, camping participants can use whatever suits their needs for free.
