[Jazz Cinema Paradise] Brad Pitt from 12 Monkeys. Recent Pitt work from Brad Pitt.

This is JUS.
I recently rewatched a movie called "12 Monkeys," and honestly, I really love this film. It’s a sci-fi suspense story set in a future where 99% of humanity has been wiped out by a mysterious virus, and one man is sent back in time to uncover the truth. The director is Terry Gilliam, famous for "Brazil" and "The Fisher King."

Terry Gilliam has directed quite a few interesting titles, so I highly recommend his work. My favorite director is Quentin Tarantino, but I’ll save that talk for another time!

Anyway, "12 Monkeys" was released in 1995, and I first saw it on DVD at a senior's house when I was about 20; it left a massive impression on me. It’s been about 15 years since then, but I still rewatch it from time to time, and every single time I think, "Man, this movie is amazing." It’s highly recommended, so if you haven't seen it yet, please do!

Also, as you all know, Brad Pitt is in this movie, and his performance is truly great! It feels like he’s walking the fine line between a mental patient and a punk rocker. He isn’t on screen for all that long, but he really establishes the mood of the film. The way he uses his eyes and his expressions is just fantastic!

There’s one other title where I think Brad Pitt is cool and the film itself is incredibly interesting: David Fincher's "Fight Club." "We are consumers. We are byproducts of a lifestyle obsession." That’s a line from Tyler Durden, played by Brad Pitt. It’s a movie with a lot of violent scenes, but as Tyler says in the film, "Fight Club is about waking up the survival instincts of modern people who have become slaves to capitalism and endless consumption," his words—rejecting a materialistic society and seeking human freedom—are permeated with philosophy. I’ve started rambling about my favorite movies, so I’ll stop here. Since we're on the subject of "Pitt," let's talk about some recent "pit" work.

Since last month, we’ve installed a live camera, so you can watch our pit work in real-time on YouTube.

You can see the process of bikes being built up and wheels being assembled. You might even catch a glimpse of a tricky point you weren't sure about yourself, depending on the timing of repairs or parts swaps.

You can also view it on the Circles homepage top. Please take a look.

Lately, we’ve been getting many requests for SimWorks by HONJO fender installations. It rained yesterday, and having fenders makes a world of difference for comfort on rainy days or post-rain rides. Plus, Honjo fenders are beautiful! It’s a common mechanic quirk to look at a bike you’ve installed Honjo fenders on and get lost in admiration, thinking, "The clearance is perfect... looks so cool!" Or maybe that’s just me?!

Moving on. With the arrival of Shimano’s 4700-series Tiagra, advanced technologies, including Shimano’s renowned snappy shifting, have been adopted even in entry-grade components. However, the price for that is that downtube shifters and bar-end controllers are no longer compatible.

To fill that gap, the MICRO SHIFT SL-D10B downtube shifter was released. Now that compatible downtube shifters from Shimano are gone, this Micro Shift model is the only one left that can operate the Tiagra 4700 series.

This time, instead of the downtube, I installed them on flat handlebars using the PAUL COMPONENT Thumbies for Micro Shift. We also have a limited stock of original color Thumbies custom-ordered by SimWorks from Paul Component!

Thanks to everyone, the Circles pit is busy every day building up lovely bikes and performing fun customizations. It’s becoming the perfect season for riding bikes! Please feel free to consult us about anything—whether it's an inspection for a bike that’s been hibernating all winter, customization, or a complete overhaul! And of course, bikes bought at other shops are perfectly welcome too! We look forward to seeing you!
