It’s mid-February. We’re starting to see more customers at the shop preparing for the spring season.
Our shop is seeing all sorts of visitors: people looking to start riding sport bicycles for the first time, or those with big dreams of riding "faster" or "further" than ever before. Among all these interactions, the topic that has come up most frequently in the last few days is clipless shoes and pedals. Whether it’s people who have been curious and want to give it a try, or those looking to switch from mountain bike pedals to road pedals, we've heard it all.
Today, I’d like to introduce some items that we highly recommend for anyone in that position.

These are the clipless shoes currently on sale, which can be found in our WINTER ARCHIVE SALE or under Diggin’ The Circle on our web shop. While these aren't the latest models, they possess all the features you could need and are perfectly ready to wear. You might just find a model and think, "Hey, this is actually pretty great." Having the latest tech isn't the only thing that matters.
Whether you’re buying your first pair of clipless shoes, considering an upgrade, or looking for a secondary pair to rotate and help your shoes last longer, please take a look.
Giro
Our lineup includes men’s models: TREBLE, EMPIRE, and EMPIRE SLX.
TREBLE is a discontinued model, now succeeded by the TREBLE Ⅱ. It features the classic three-strap design and a supple nylon sole, making it easy to wear for beginners and great for long rides. We have stock in black at 45 (29cm) and white at 43 (27.5cm). Additionally, we have the EMPIRE in 42.5 (27cm) and the EMPIRE SLX in 42 (27cm)—popular sizes for many riders—both in discontinued colors with only one pair left of each.
All other items are women’s models. We have sizes in Euro 37 (23.5cm) and 38 (24cm) that fit many, but actually, many are in Euro size 39, which translates to 25.0cm. These are niche sizes recommended for women around 24.5~25cm or men around 24~24.5cm.
※Where sizes are listed next to the model name, we only have stock in those specific sizes.
Fizik
Excluding the M5 Donna, all other models are men’s, and they are in popular sizes like 42 and 43.
While the models using the Boa system are enticing, I personally prefer the models that use velcro made from yacht sailcloth. By the way, for Fizik shoes, the lower the number (1–6) in the model name, the more advanced the functionality. The R1 and R3 feature carbon soles, while the R4, M6, and others use nylon resin soles. The R3, despite having a carbon sole, has a nice balance of suppleness, making it a perfect fit for long rides or those who occasionally take their bikes onto gravel.
Chrome
From San Francisco comes Chrome, a brand that releases legitimate clipless shoes that look just like casual sneakers. These are now available at sale prices, too. Among them, the deck-shoe-style Truck Pro offers a wide variety of sizes and colors. Also, the 415 Storm Pro, of which we only have two pairs left, is a waterproof model great for the cold winter season and bad weather. We only have one pair left each in sizes 8 and 10. If you happen to be that size, you’re in luck—this will definitely make riding in bad weather much more enjoyable. The Dima, Krusk, and Mirko are not clipless shoes, but regular sneakers that are easy to slip on. Like the clipless shoes, they are built with the same level of solid durability.
These are all items that might just loosen your purse strings.
Also, our WINTER ARCHIVE SALE, which started at the end of January, finally ends tomorrow. We look forward to seeing everyone on our final day. Please be sure to check our web shop one more time as well.
