Do those born and bred in the Tokai region realize just how unique and awesome the music scene is around here?? Having moved here a little over a year ago, I, Monja, find myself blown away every time I go to a music event, and I want to shout this question from the rooftops! (I feel like I'm going to hear a chorus of "We already know that!" in response.)
As one of the backbones of the Tokai music culture, the "Toyota Rock Festival 2016"—a free, 10-year-running music festival—will be joined by Nagoya's bicycle shop Circles and Bikelore, which hosts "Adult and Children's Bicycle Athletic Meets" across the country.
First, let me introduce the children's version of Bikelore: "Kidslore"!

Bikelore is a cyclocross-style bicycle race that started at Akigase Park in Saitama, evolving into an outdoor festival-style cycling event featuring unique local shops and delicious food. It is growing into a popular event with over 7,000 attendees and has since been held in Hakushu, Yamanashi, and Matsuyama, Ehime (for the first time). A major feature is that not just the race winners, but all participants get to stand out, have fun, and play.
Kidslore is the independent version of the children's event that gets as much excitement as the famous Owl Class race at Bikelore.
We'll practice riding bikes together on a Bikelore-style fun course set up at the venue, and finish off with a little race.
From kids trying out a bike for the first time to seasoned pros who can clear slaloms and balance beams, it's an event everyone can enjoy.
(And it's also a chance to show off the family's ability to take amazingly cool photos of the action.)
Kids will love bikes even more, and so will adults!
