Patagonia’s iconic innerwear series has been renewed. Whether worn as everyday base layers or during rides and races, Patagonia’s innerwear has become an indispensable part of my daily life. When I heard that this series was getting a refresh, I’ll admit I was a bit apprehensive, but I’m now full of excitement to try it out.
Patagonia’s innerwear (base layers) is generally divided into two types: synthetic Capilene and merino wool. Previously, these were classified by numbers 1 through 4 depending on temperature, but they have now been reclassified into Daily, Lightweight, Midweight, and Thermal Weight.
The Daily series introduced here is the perfect category for this time of year, featuring a regular fit that, as the name suggests, is comfortable for relaxed everyday wear.
Personally, I think the Daily Merino is the most versatile piece in the lineup, with the potential to perform everywhere from daily life to outdoor scenes. Its relaxed silhouette makes it easy to layer under shirts, and above all, the blend of merino wool and Capilene (synthetic fiber) provides a pleasant, comfortable feel.
The Daily Capilene, which has a more sporty look, is made of a material that is not only moisture-wicking but also exceptionally stretchy. Beyond that, it is packed with features like UV protection and permanent odor control. It is the perfect innerwear for the still-sweaty season.
