Q36.5’s bibs achieve their signature thinness and lightness by utilizing threads with exceptional elasticity and durability, allowing the fabric to be woven like a shirt rather than knitted. This new model is even lighter than the standard Salopette L1 and offers such a comfortable, non-restrictive fit that you barely feel like you're wearing them at all.

The side panels use a special mesh to contribute to weight reduction. While standard mesh often sacrifices UV protection, the high-density woven mesh material from Q36.5 not only shields your skin from UV rays but also efficiently dissipates heat from your legs.
The suspender section is also made of the same mesh, which is another highlight that contributes to a pressure-free, incredibly light wearing experience.
They’ve even taken the thorough step of making the chamois slightly smaller than that of the Salopette L1 (right side).
By trimming away excess padding and making it thinner with reduced friction, they’ve achieved surprising lightness and comfort. Given this uncompromising design, I would recommend these for grueling conditions over 30°C, racing, or short, high-intensity rides. However, for those looking to do long rides, I would recommend the traditional Salopette L1 model.
To be honest, it’s not an inexpensive purchase, but it is one piece of gear I highly recommend you try at least once.
