I participated in the Tokai Cyclocross again.
A far cry from the previous course, it was a "sand hell" consisting mostly of sand.
I haven't ridden through this much sand since I was in elementary school.
I imagine most of the participants experienced a fair amount of suffering.
After all, even a single lap left us absolutely exhausted.
But I feel like everyone was smiling naturally after the race.
One person who shared in that sense of accomplishment was K-san, a regular at our Sunday Morning Ride, who participated for the first time.
It was his first race since getting his cyclocross bike at our New Year Sale just the other day, and he put on a fantastic performance.
Let's definitely participate again!
As for me, I stretched myself this time by entering Category 3 after racing in Category 4 last time.
I'm frustrated because the results weren't great, but it was a very valuable experience.
Of course, I'll be racing in Category 3 next time as well, so I look forward to it.
And most importantly, someone came out this time just to see what a cyclocross race was like.
Man, I'm really happy about that.
I welcome carpooling, so if anyone else is interested, please feel free to reach out.
