Fender installation seems to be a service we are asked about more often than even during the rainy season.
Thankfully, we also frequently receive inquiries about painting SimWorks by Honjo fenders. That means it’s time for our painting division, Kyutai Paint, to step in.
First, we thoroughly sand the surface to prepare the foundation.
If a color doesn't exist among standard paints, we'll just create it ourselves.
And so, it's complete.
A color-matched fender for a Retrotec Sportif Style Racer. We applied the dart paint—an icon of Retrotec—to the fender to match the frame.
It turned out exactly as the owner envisioned. It’s a machine that truly earns the name "neo-sportif," equipped with electronic Ultegra. Now, the rider can charge ahead without a care, even in the rain or through puddles.
We have also gone ahead and painted a Salsa Caseroll. Naturally, we color-matched the included front rack to match.
And here is one of our best recent works. The placement of the logo and the colors turned out beautifully.
We repainted a Giant TCR (aluminum) that had been well-loved by its owner.
Giant is truly a manufacturer that knows how to build things well.
However, we often hear people say things like, "The logo is..." or "Everyone rides one..."
Well then, let’s paint it! If you carefully consider the colors and the balance of the logo, it can turn out this cool.
It has gradually gotten colder, but our paint shop is actually quite warm, partly due to the heaters we use to dry the frames, and we continue our daily work surrounded by that warmth. At this time of year, we often receive requests to repaint a bike while it's in for an overhaul.
At Kyutai Paint, we do thorough surface preparation and apply at least three layers of clear coat for the finish. If you have a request to make your bike one-of-a-kind, or if you'd like to give your ride a fresh new look along with an overhaul, please feel free to consult with our staff.
