Through several nights

Whether you know me or not, come one, come all, and take a look.

That said, I’m Makoto, and I’m in America now.
I’m staying in a town like this.

Yes, it’s a town with almost nothing in it.
However, for a weirdo like me? It’s actually the perfect place.
Why, you ask?

It’s because of this.
It’s a school called UBI that teaches frame building.
I’ve come to America specifically to attend this school.
So, I’m a "student" now.
38 years old, a student, living in a cheap inn.
The sketchiness factor is off the charts.
But if I can make use of what I learn here, I think I’ll be able to do even more interesting and fun things.
Twenty years after I first started cycling, diving into an unknown genre is filled with both anxiety and excitement.
I’m going to give it my all, so please look forward to it, even just a little.

Speaking of fun, naturally, there are MTB trails even in such a rural area, and since I brought my bike along, I head out every single day.

Recently, there have been bear sightings, so they’re urging caution with signs like this.

It may seem simple, but I imagine it’s quite a task to keep this kind of information updated at all times.
I’m sure there are many issues involved, but whenever I ride here, I always wish that Japan could have more trails that nature, people, riders, hikers, and joggers can all share naturally.
I hope to share more about the trail situation here as well, so please stay tuned.

Hey, what happened to the update about school?

It’s only just begun, so I’ll report back once things have settled down a bit.
But, here’s just a little sneak peek.

I welded some bottle cage eyelets.
Though, I scorched one of them to a crisp.
I’ve still got a long way to go.
But man, is it ever fun.
