Was May always this hot? Before I knew it, I’ve found myself wearing nothing but sandals every day.
Come to think of it, exactly five years ago, it was during this season that I was traveling by bicycle, much like Ken-Poro did a little while back. (I was jealous of Ken-Poro's popularity after that trip, so I’m saying this now just to get it off my chest: my trip was pretty great, too!)
And during that three-week journey, what I wore every single day were sandal-style clipless shoes. They also happened to be the very first clipless shoes I ever wore.
So, this time, I’d like to recommend KEEN’s clipless shoes!
After the one and two, the third iteration is the current Commuter.
Being the third in the series, the level of refinement is certainly high.

And this is the continuing model that uses oiled leather for a slightly chic look.

Wearing sandals at this time of year provides an incredible level of comfort for your feet.
Compared to other "shoes," the breathability is incomparable. They are just plain comfortable.
Also, for the upcoming rainy season, if you’re prepared to get them wet and change into a fresh pair of socks afterward, nothing beats these! And even if you don't change, there’s no doubt they are far more comfortable than standard "shoes."
Now, a point of concern might be the hold.
It’s understandable to worry that a sandal style might feel a bit insecure. In fact, it is unavoidable that the holding power is somewhat lower compared to standard models.
Even so!
Unless you’re doing very hard riding, there is less stress while pedaling than you might think.
I highly recommend them for touring, daily bike-to-work commutes, and weekend cycling!
And, by pairing them with socks, you can wear them comfortably until autumn.
By the way, even in midsummer, when covering some distance, it is definitely more comfortable to wear socks when considering friction and sweat.
By the way, KEEN socks are extremely comfortable! And of course, we have a wide selection available.
And finally, this is also quite important. Just like many other KEEN shoes, they have a slightly wider fit and are very easy to wear!
So, everyone, trust me on this and give the KEEN clipless shoes—a.k.a. the PEDAL series—a try.
