Reporting from Summersville, this is your NAHBS correspondent.

The final day in Charlotte started with rain. I headed out without an umbrella for breakfast at a diner Jeremy from Sycip recommended last night, but unfortunately, it was full and had a wait, so I reluctantly turned back and headed to the venue.

Those of you who follow my Instagram or his might already know, but I had a very valuable experience on the second night. I'll save that story for another time.

There are hardly any bike photos in today's entry, so I apologize to those who were looking forward to them, but here are the people I met over these three days.

Everyone was truly so warm and welcoming; they love bicycles, but they love people even more.

I can't say I understood everything we talked about, but it was three days where I found so much to relate to.

The world may be vast, but I believe that as long as we’re riding bikes, the world around us becomes smaller and more connected.

That’s why I ride a bicycle.

After leaving Charlotte, I had a long drive north to Pittsburgh, but you never know what will happen on a trip—I ran into unexpected snow and had to give up halfway, spending the night in Summersville.

That said, I was able to perfect my plans for Pittsburgh, so please look forward to the second half of this trip!
