This time of year is great, as the mountains change their appearance with every ride, allowing you to experience the shift in seasons firsthand.
The other day, I went for a ride around the mountains of Seto with three people who were all meeting for the first time. Despite the recent cold snap making the morning chilly, it was a beautiful day, and it felt warm while riding once the sun came out. It’s hard to choose what to wear during this season with its large temperature swings, but everyone in this group chose merino wool.
Wait a minute. Hold on. They're all wearing the same jersey, just in different colors, aren't they?
That’s right. Even though they were all meeting for the first time and hadn't coordinated anything, it was a miracle that they all showed up wearing the SEARCH AND STATE Long Sleeve Merino Jersey. The fact that they each chose a different color without overlapping made it as shocking as winning the lottery.

It goes without saying that it’s warm, but it also takes advantage of the moisture-wicking, quick-drying, and breathable properties of merino wool. Tailored with the simple style characteristic of Search and State, this long-sleeve jersey is a staple in early autumn and works as a mid-layer in winter, making it a versatile piece you can use straight through to spring, often layering it with vests or jackets in the coming season.
This year, gray is no longer available, so we are offering it in two colors: black and surplus green. This is a base item for your fall and winter wardrobe that pairs easily with any clothing you already own.
I know many people like to wear something different from everyone else, but good things are simply good. It was great to see that everyone I rode with that day had really made the gear their own by putting it to good use.
After all, apparel is just another piece of equipment. The autumn leaves at Iwayado are likely at their peak right now, and I’m already looking forward to my next ride!
