In San Francisco, there were so many people living life alongside their bicycles.
People who relied on them for transportation, for work, or simply because they absolutely loved bikes.
It was a bike-friendly city with bike lanes on the streets and subways that allowed you to bring your bicycle on board as is. (Though, there are a lot of hills...)
I remember how he kindly struck up a conversation with us once he realized we were cyclists.
The Mission District in San Francisco is a place vibrant with art, music, and bike culture.
I’ve only been there once, but it was incredibly striking to see so many different races living their lives in so many different ways. (Actually, it was also the shocking place where I got lost. Haha)
“Mission Workshop,” which I’m introducing today, is based in that Mission District. They manage everything from product manufacturing to material sourcing in-house and produce their goods within the United States.
There are other dedicated bag manufacturers born in San Francisco, like Chrome and Freight Baggage, but among them, I think “Mission Workshop” bags are particularly simple, functional, and blend perfectly into urban bike culture.
We have carried them before, and they are now back in stock, so I wanted to introduce them!
Mission Workshop “The Monty”(21ℓ) ¥25,200_
The “Monty” is the perfect size for everything from everyday use to commuting.
It’s equipped with compartments to organize your phone, wallet, and other small items, and the space for the laptop you want to protect from impact is positioned in the center. (I’m a worrier, so I’m very grateful for that.)Most messenger bags are designed to be worn over the left shoulder so they’re easy to adjust with your right hand… but even so, I’m sure some of you want to carry yours on your right shoulder, right?
Rest assured.
The shoulder strap can be detached like this, allowing you to switch it from left to right.
It’s convenient for those who find it a hassle to suddenly switch which shoulder they carry their bag on.
Also, by rolling down the flap, it turns into a roll-top style, which is useful when you want quick access to the zippered pockets.

The slightly larger “The Rummy” is recommended for those carrying a bit more gear or for short trips.
And there’s one more thing I want to introduce.
Mission Workshop “The Rummy/AP Series”(27ℓ) ¥39,900_
Using 1000-denier VX Cordura nylon with a PTFE (fluorine) coating, this fabric is surprisingly waterproof, lightweight, and rugged.
Once you put it on, you’ll be surprised by how light it is!
Above all, the defining feature of the AP Series is the "Modular Systems" function, which allows for quick access when taking things out of the bag.
It has a large pocket that fits a 15-inch MacBook Pro and features the same functional utility as “The Monty” I introduced earlier.
Honestly… I want one.
Personally, I really love how it feels when worn and how easy the buckles are to adjust.
You all should definitely give it a try.
Now, let’s have Kenpolo from Early Birds demonstrate how quickly it can be converted into a roll-top!
