Since I couldn't decide where to go on my day off yesterday, I ended up going to the same mountain I visited last week. However, I changed my approach.
I took my cross bike and tried a different route.
With the cross bike, I can just pedal from home, so I packed some snacks and a towel into my saddlebag and headed out.
Just as I had imagined, I discovered a dirt access path that was perfectly climbable on a cross bike.
There is still plenty of room for exploration. For these kinds of exploratory rides, a cross bike is a very strong ally. It’s also reassuring to bring a bike travel bag along if the distance makes you a little hesitant.
Still, with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees yesterday, it was sweltering even in the shade of the forest. I rested for a while at the summit before heading home. I ended up getting as red as a boiled octopus from the sun after just one day. Everyone, make sure to take proper precautions against the heat.
