What one person finds comfortable, another may not. HALISON / Lambswool Knicker Hose

These lambswool knicker hose from HALISON are one of the essential pairs of socks in my wardrobe. I wear them frequently from the moment the winter chill sets in until early spring, and of course, I am wearing them right now as I write this blog post.

I first discovered these socks when I saw Izuru-shi from DaisyMessenger wearing them. Wearing a mountain parka with a well-worn messenger bag, the way the argyle pattern filled the gap between his knickerbockers and cycling shoes was incredibly stylish. The style worn by Mr. Konishi in our recent With Bicycle feature is very similar to that look.

Back then, Circles didn't carry them, so I used to visit outdoor shops to buy them. At some point, we started stocking them at Circles, and they have since become a staple item here.

While I haven't been wearing knickerbockers much lately, I haven't stopped reaching for these socks constantly over the past few years.

【HALISON】 Lambswool Lightweight Knicker Hose

Made from delicate and soft lambswool—the fleece of lambs under six months old—these warm, comfortable argyle knicker hose are a masterpiece long loved as outdoor socks, offering exceptional heat retention and moisture-wicking properties. They even work well for summer hiking.

By the way, Halison offers both "lightweight" and "heavyweight" versions, but for everyday use and riding, I find the balance of thickness and warmth in this "lightweight" version to be the most practical. They have become a staple at Circles, and everyone who buys them once is sure to become a repeat customer.

Also, I don't wear tights unless it's absolutely necessary, just because it's cold. I find it stressful to have three layers—underwear, tights, and trousers—piled on top of each other, and more than anything, I hate the discomfort of my waistband being pulled down and the bunching in the crotch. As long as my lower legs are warm, I don't have a problem going without tights. That is why I love wearing these lambswool knicker hose whenever it gets cold. I really want as many people as possible to experience that sense of freedom.

Spring is slowly approaching, but I'm sure there are still plenty of days left to enjoy them.
I hope you'll give their comfort a try for yourself.
