Hi, this is JUS.
I did a little DIY project today, so I’d like to share it with you. Actually, I’ve been working on this for a while, but I didn’t think it was worth a blog post. However, since I got some positive feedback, I decided to share it after all.

The ends of the side bars on this SIMWORKS BY NITTO / Potluck Rack feature M8 bolts, which are essentially a gimmick that says, "Use your imagination and attach something here!"
You can see the M8 bolts like this.
When you think about doing something in that spot, the first thing that comes to mind is whether you can mount a light, right?
But in reality, trying to mount a light there elegantly is more difficult than you’d think. In fact, there aren’t really any off-the-shelf light mounts that fit right on there. (If there are, please let me know!!)
So, I made one. I call it the "Potluck Side Bar Tip Light Mount."
Although I say "I made it," the light mount itself uses a NITTO / Lamp Holder Thread M6, so what I actually fabricated is the bracket part that connects the Potluck rack to the lamp holder (shown in the photo on the right).
And what did I make this bracket out of, you ask?

Yes, these are actually mounts originally intended for attaching disc brake calipers to frames and forks.
We had a ton of them in the junk box at the Circles Pit, so I cut, filed, and stripped them to make these.
Yeah, it looks pretty good.
During a time like this when it's hard to get out and ride because of the rain, isn't it fun to do some DIY projects at home?!
