Chrome Shoes

This is TAKA, and lately I’ve been commuting exclusively on my fixed-gear bike.
Since I had been riding a touring bike at a more relaxed pace until recently, I’m once again amazed by the snappy acceleration and the feeling of being one with the pedals.
Naturally, changing bikes also means changing shoes, so I’ve dug out a pair of CHROME sneakers that had been sleeping in my shoe rack. Back then, I used to go through shoes quite often, so I went through a process of trial and error, testing various pairs in search of something durable, and Chrome was the brand I landed on.
Nowadays, as more people prefer casual SPD-compatible clipless shoes and many manufacturers are churning out shoes with novel designs, Chrome has continued to update the same models without losing their essence, based on feedback from riders, while releasing durable designs that blend seamlessly into the street scene.

Now, two new SPD-compatible clipless models have arrived, based on the classic Chrome work boot style!

CHROME Storm 415 Pro Boot

Both models are based on the design of the 415 WorkBoot, combining the mobility of sneakers with the stability and protection of boots.
The big difference lies in the main upper material. It’s hard to choose between the model using Chrome’s signature abrasion-resistant Cordura nylon and the model made of fully waterproof, highly breathable full-grain leather—both are quite appealing.

Chrome’s strength is that their shoes are easy to pair with various styles, and they keep the stitching and embroidery colors simple and tonal.
Though it’s not widely known, Chrome shoes are actually manufactured at the factory of KEEN, the iconic outdoor footwear brand. Since these are things that support our feet every day, both on and off the bike, you definitely want to keep wearing something with reliable quality.

As for the sizing, it’s similar to Converse All Stars. We’ve also stocked a wide range of sizes this time, from 25.5cm to 28.0cm.
Be sure to give these Chrome shoes a try—they’ll be a great companion this fall and winter!
