【CAFE DU CYCLISTE】Merino wool + fleece = Honko Chishin (Learning from the past).

At first glance, its composed aesthetic might make you mistake it for something other than cycling apparel, but once you put it on and head out for a ride, it guarantees a very comfortable day. That perfect balance between functionality and a sense of playfulness as apparel is what defines the items from CAFE DU CYCLISTE.

In particular, the autumn/winter models they produce are all high-performance garments capable of getting you through the harsh winter season. Among them, we have made sure to stock that one particular piece we’ve been very interested in for this winter.

The Alphonsine Fleece Jersey, which has been properly added to the lineup since around last year.

Its style, inspired by outdoor fleece jackets, might tempt you to pair it with denim or climbing pants for a casual outing, but its tight silhouette is pure cycling jersey. It is truly a cycling jersey that pairs perfectly with bib tights.

When you think of fleece, many probably imagine synthetic fibers, but its roots actually lie in sheep's wool. In addition to the high heat retention and lightness of fleece fabric, the blend of merino wool also provides moisture-wicking and quick-drying properties, which prove effective once you start riding and your body warms up.

The fabric used for the panels from the shoulders to the chest offers moderate wind resistance, and in addition to back pockets, the front features a double zip, which is useful when you want to relax during a ride or need to regulate your body temperature.

This year, we have both men's and women's models in the lineup.

Once you put it on, it feels extremely warm, with enough insulation to easily handle even the coldest mid-winter rides. It uses a warmer material than our standard Heidi Winter Jacket (thanks to you all, some sizes have sold out, but a few remain!), but since it is essentially a breathable material, it is even more reassuring to keep a packable wind vest or wind jacket in your pocket for mornings, evenings, or when the wind is blowing strongly.

In contrast to the Assos gear we introduced the other day, this is a powerful performer that, despite its appearance as an authentic outdoor jacket, is perfect for those who want to ride hard through the winter. It has a somewhat nostalgic atmosphere, yet feels new. Why not try wearing this piece and enjoying your winter rides?
