A wonderful photo that makes you want to run across such a vast expanse of land. I’d love to claim this is a favorite photo I took myself, but it was actually a gift from Date-san of Chariken. Jealousy aside, he said he captured this while visiting the Goto Islands. Just imagining running through such incredible scenery is enough to get anyone excited.
As is the case with me and the rest of our staff, running has become a very accessible activity, just like cycling. The running shoe brand we carry, ALTRA, stands out from other brands for its ability to promote a natural running form. Out of the ALTRA lineup, I’ve picked out a model that’s simple, great-looking, and so comfortable you’ll want to wear it every day!
The Instinct 3.0 is the foundational road running model for ALTRA. With its well-balanced cushioning and stability, it is suitable for a versatile range of runs, from short to long distances.
If you have never worn ALTRA, I want you to experience the benefits of "Zero Drop" for yourself. While most shoes employ a heel-to-toe ratio of 2:1 for ground distance, zero drop shoes use a 1:1 ratio. This increases the surface area for landing, allowing you to maintain natural and correct posture while running, which has the effect of dramatically reducing impact on your joints and tendons.
Also, once you get used to wearing ALTRA shoes, the comfortable sensation becomes addictive—to the point where you'll want to wear them in your everyday life. This Instinct model has a design that is easy to pair with casual clothing, making it highly practical for daily wear. This is a model I highly recommend for those just starting road running or those who want to experience zero drop for the first time.
And we have some other optimal items in stock for when you go for a run.
We now have stock of DRYMAX, the specialists in socks that keep your feet dry at all times, and the BOTTLE BAND, which can hold anything from PET bottles to Nalgene bottles (and of course cycling water bottles too) right in your hand. Why not try starting running—a perfect activity for those days when you don't have time to go for a bike ride but still want a bit of exercise?
*We will be closed on Saturday, November 28th and Sunday, November 29th to participate in the Nobeyama Cyclocross. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your understanding.
