The film above is a road trip movie by adventure sports photographer Lars Schneider, who travels through the American Southwest with his family in an old campervan. Through life in the van, they experience a kind of richness—a pure, free existence that differs slightly from the wealth many Japanese people associate with money—together as a family. I’m surely not the only one who felt a sense of longing after watching this. Providing support for the apparel in this film is Houdini, an outdoor clothing brand born in Sweden.
The daily pace of technological advancement is incredible; new materials are being created year after year, leading to the birth of gear that is both lightweight and robust. The movement known as UL (ultralight) now sits firmly at the center of the outdoor scene, but as is true in any industry, if you focus solely on lightweight functionality, you are prone to losing sight of things that are even more important. After all, isn't the most essential quality required of the gear you wear its fit and comfort?
The Houdini apparel we are introducing this time is ready for activities like climbing, skiing, trail running, and cycling, combining function that blends into any situation with a simple design. Beyond that, their commitment to manufacturing that prioritizes the importance of comfort feels very close to the philosophy here at Circles, giving us a strong sense of affinity.
At Circles, we carry both men’s and women’s lines, so please be sure to try on these Houdini garments—often described as having a "magical level of comfort"—when you visit the shop.
They are sure to captivate you.
