Behind-the-scenes work that designs the “matter of course”

What you ordered arrives properly.
The part you were looking for is available at the right time.
The products on the shop floor are in order, and you can find what you need right away.
At first glance these seem like a matter of course.
But behind that matter of course, there is always someone's hand.
Hello everyone, this is Tanaka from Circles.
Receiving packages, checking quantities, putting them on the shelves, and handing them on to where they're needed.
It's rarely talked about in a big way, but it's very important work that reliably keeps Circles moving every day.
This time, we're looking for someone to join us in supporting that work.
In particular, we're looking for part-time logistics staff who can work from the morning until around 1 p.m.
Depending on your situation, wishes and background, it is of course also possible to be involved as part-time staff working full days, and depending on ability, promotion to a regular staff position later is possible, too.

Position
Logistics staff (part-time)
The main work is receiving, inspection, inventory management, shipping and so on for products relating to Circles / CWD.
When I myself started working at a clothing store, what I was mainly entrusted with was warehouse management.
Checking the products that came in, matching the quantities, putting them on the shelves, and getting them ready to go out on the shop floor.
Learning what is where, getting to know the products' characteristics, watching how stock moves, and thinking about what will be needed next.
Generally speaking it may be backstage work.
But looking back, that is where I learned much of the ABCs of work.
Knowing the products.
Managing them.
Planning the steps.
Creating conditions in which people can move easily.
And seeing the flow of the whole store from behind the scenes.
The warehouse, in fact, holds all the basics and all the important things of doing business.
That is exactly why we don't think of logistics at Circles as mere tasks, either.
Receiving products, putting them in order, and delivering them where they're needed.
The accumulation of that supports the store, the online store, the mechanics, and our relationship with customers.
The working pattern we especially want to recruit for

Those who want to make use of their mornings.
Those who want to work while balancing it with childcare or family commitments.
Those who want to use their afternoons for other activities.
I think it's a job that suits such people very well.
Even in a short time, the role isn't small.
The morning is an important time of day for logistics, with receiving, shipping preparation, stock organizing and so on.
Those few hours very often set the whole flow of the day in order.
What the job involves
The main duties are as follows.
- Inspecting incoming products
- Sorting products and registering locations
- Inventory management and organizing shelves
- Picking products for shipment
- Packing and processing slips
- Checking returned and exchanged products
- Keeping the warehouse and backyard tidy and in order
- Coordinating with EC, store and CWD staff
- Improving work flow lines
- Safety management and 5S
You don't need to be able to do everything perfectly from the start.
It's fine to learn things one at a time.
However, accuracy is very important.
Product, quantity, location, destination.
So that a small mistake doesn't become a big hassle for someone.
By the same token, I think it's a place where people who can work carefully will find it easy to show their strengths.

We welcome people like this
- Those who don't mind steady, methodical work
- Those who like keeping things tidy and in order
- Those who like thinking through the steps of a job
- Those who can properly report, inform and consult
- Those who have no objection to physical work
- Those who can value working as a team
- Those who find it rewarding to support from behind the scenes
- Those with an interest in bicycles, tools and the flow of goods
- Those with experience in logistics, warehousing, inventory management, shipping and the like
Your knowledge of bicycles doesn't have to be deep from the start.
Of course, if you love them, you're very welcome.
But more important than that is
to look properly.
To place properly.
To hand over properly.
It's very simple, but people who can do this are a great help on the ground.
There's no need for flashy self-promotion.
We'd like to work with someone who can face each day's work with a sense of responsibility and honesty.

Finally

Logistics isn't work that stands out.
But it's work that is indispensable for Circles to keep running properly.
A few hours in the morning change the flow of the store.
When the shelves are in order, the way people move changes.
When a package arrives correctly, someone's day goes a little more smoothly.
“I might be able to work mornings.”
“Until 1 p.m., I think I could keep it up.”
“I might actually quite like work that supports things from behind the scenes.”
If you have even a little of that hunch, please do apply.
We look forward to receiving your applications.
