[MECHANIC'S COMMENT]

VELOCITY's Blunt SS combines the lightness required for racing specs with high durability, while its low, thick sidewalls provide surprising stiffness to support your ride. Furthermore, the spoke bed is designed to handle high tension while keeping overall weight down.

For the hubs, we have selected a well-balanced option that employs Boost standards for both the front and rear to suit off-road bikes. The result is a wheelset that performs brilliantly for everything from dirt touring to downhill riding.

What are wheels to a bicycle? They are essential components for a bike to move, and they have a major impact on aesthetics—as they say, "Style starts from the feet up." Wheels are truly vital parts. This time, I’d like to talk not about performance, but about how they are built.

In the world of bicycle wheels, there are two types: "factory-built" and "hand-built."

"Factory-built" refers to wheels shipped as complete products by manufacturers, which in principle rarely require any major adjustments by us shop mechanics. (While minor adjustments are necessary, some wheels are essentially unusable unless we work on them.) Due to their construction, they are often adjusted for a broad, unspecified user base or for pro/pro-level riders, rather than being tailored to the individual customer.

That is where Circles' specialty, "hand-built" wheels, comes in.

The advantage of "hand-built" wheels is exactly as the name implies: by selecting the components one by one and having our mechanics assemble them, we can build a "wheel" that is perfectly suited to the person who will be using it.
