GORILLA SPUN Build Wheel [VELOCITY Atlas 26" x SHIMANO M8000 DeoreXT]
[MECHANIC'S COMMENT]
A wheelset that combines the classic look and ruggedness of VELOCITY rims with the highly serviceable SHIMANO hubs. You can use them with peace of mind for everything from daily commuting to a world tour.
The Atlas is a highly durable model even within Velocity's diverse lineup, featuring a thick sidewall with ribs. The 15% thicker spoke bed can handle high loads on the spokes without failing.
They will undoubtedly support you on your world tour. The resilient spokes are resistant to snapping, which will surely reduce mechanical troubles. While the 135mm quick-release hub standard has faded from the limelight, it’s a vital specification when viewed on a global scale.

What are bicycle wheels, anyway? They are essential components for moving the bicycle forward, and as the saying goes, "style starts from the feet," they also have a huge impact on appearance. These are incredibly important parts. This time, I’m not talking about performance, but about how wheels are built.
In the world of bicycle wheels, there are two types: "factory-built" and "hand-built."
"Factory-built" refers to wheels that manufacturers ship as finished products, which shop mechanics like us rarely need to perform major adjustments on. (Minor adjustments are necessary, and some simply need work right out of the box.) Because of this configuration, they are often adjusted for a generic user base or for pro/pro-level riders, and aren't made with the individual customer in mind.
That’s where "hand-building," which Circles specializes in, comes in.
The advantage of hand-building is, literally, that we pick each component of the wheel one by one, and we mechanics assemble them to create a wheel that fits the user perfectly.
