GORILLA SPUN Build Wheel [ASTRAL Serpentine 29" x SHIMANO HB-M8210-B/FH-M8210-B]
[MECHANIC'S COMMENT]
ASTRAL / Astral Serpentine 29-inch wheels feature durable and reliable aluminum rims suitable for everything from demanding trail riding to loaded bike packing.
Their standout feature is an asymmetrical design that minimizes the difference in spoke tension between the left and right sides. The wide 32 mm internal rim profile securely supports wide MTB tires, delivering excellent control and superior traction even on rough trails. These rims are highly recommended for MTB riders who want to aggressively tackle technical sections, as well as those seeking peace of mind on long-distance dirt touring.
The wheels use SHIMANO / Shimano DEORE XT HB-M8210-B / FH-M8210-B hubs. Compatible with Boost standards front and rear, they provide high wheel stiffness and reliable power transfer. The rear hub features a DIRECT ENGAGEMENT mechanism that, true to its name, directly transmits pedaling power to the drivetrain even when loaded. They are dependable hubs for long-distance bike packing, offering smooth starts on climbs and rough dirt.
Experience precise control on demanding trails. Enjoy the peace of mind to ride as far as you want during loaded bike packing. This wheelset is designed for riders who want to play hard, no matter where the trail takes them.

What are wheels in the context of a bicycle? They are essential components for propelling the bike forward, and as the saying goes, "style starts from the ground up," they also have a major impact on appearance. These incredibly important components are wheels. This time, we won't talk about performance, but rather how they are built.
In the world of bicycle wheel building, there are two types: pre-built and hand-built.
"Pre-built" wheels are shipped by the wheel manufacturer as finished products, and shop mechanics usually do not need to make major adjustments. (Fine-tuning may be necessary, and some require a little attention to be properly set up.) Due to this setup, they are often adjusted for a wide range of users or for professional or pro-level use, rather than being built to suit each individual customer.
This is where Circles' specialty, "hand-building," comes in.
The advantage of "hand-building" is exactly what the name implies: by carefully selecting each component of the wheel and having our mechanics assemble and complete it, we can build a set of "wheels" that perfectly fits the user.
