This chainring bolt is necessary when using the double VBC chainrings released by White Industries.

VBC, which stands for Variable Bolt Circle, allows you to set the 
outer ring and inner ring to the number of teeth you prefer, set them at an off-road ratio to match your 
 mountain bike, or set them at a ratio suitable for
road riding. 

It is recommended to combine the outer ring and inner ring so that the difference in the number of teeth between the outer ring and inner ring is within the value of 10 to 24.
