【ASSOS Mille GT Bib Shorts C2】The masterpiece you find yourself reaching for time and again—that is the ASSOS bib shorts.

Despite having so many options to choose from, this is the one I always find myself reaching for.
Actually, let me tell you about this masterpiece.

Just before the Obon holidays in 2022, I decided to go on an overnight ride for the first time in a while.
While preparing, I realized something.

"I need two days' worth of bib shorts!!!"

Of course, I’ve purchased and owned many pairs of bib shorts, so there was no need to panic and scramble. Still... at that moment, with a long-distance ride coming up after such a long time, the anticipation of a trip, and the fact that I’d be riding with new members, I was pretty pumped. Plus, even though I have plenty, they’re all a few years old, so I had excuses to justify a purchase—like "it’s about time I bought a fresh pair" or "I need to actually use the products I sell to understand them"—as well as the pure, simple desire to "try out the new model!" So, I ended up getting the ASSOS Mille GT Bib Shorts C2, telling myself, "I just have to buy them!"

ASSOS Mille GT Bib Shorts C2

I’ve used various ASSOS products, including bib shorts and tights, in the past, and I’ve always felt their comfort firsthand—they bring every functionality a cyclist needs, from fit and moisture-wicking to stretch, to a remarkably high level. While they don't switch to new models every season, last year happened to be a model change year for the bib shorts.

So, how were these bib shorts that I wrestled with myself over purchasing? Well, they truly are a fantastic product—a masterpiece.

Comfortable in the peak of summer!!!

I felt many things, but one is their superior comfort. Since I started using them in the height of summer, I often rode under harsh sunlight with sweat pouring down constantly. Even in those situations, while I wasn’t exactly "cool," I didn’t feel the heat, and thanks to the sweat drying extremely quickly, I was able to spend hours on the bike comfortably and without stress.

Perfect fit with X-Frame suspenders!

The fit is also wonderful, allowing for smooth pedaling even after hours of wear. I’d be spinning the pedals, occasionally getting out of the saddle—those repeated movements usually cause some "shifting" that requires adjustment, but I never felt any such displacement, even after long hours of use. This is achieved by the X-Frame suspender, which is also used on their top-tier models. The A-Frame suspension structure that crosses on the back prevents the lumbar area from sagging, which gives the chamois an integrated feel, as if it’s clinging to your body.

The main fabric Type.429 is the secret to the comfort!

And there is another factor, which links to the comfort mentioned earlier: the superior elasticity of the Type.429 fabric used as the main material. It stretches in multiple directions and provides an excellent, moderate compression. It doesn't cause any stress, and responds to various movements like a second skin. I’ve even worn them for a couple of casual rides without pulling the X-Frame suspenders over my shoulders, and I was impressed by the fit even then.

The Mille GT Bib Shorts C2 are a friend to those with sensitive skin!

Finally, something that made me very happy as someone with sensitive skin is the leg grippers. I’ve used many types of bib shorts, and I could never keep the grippers of any of them in one place all day long. If I did, my thighs would end up chafed the next day or the day after, but I didn’t experience that with these grippers.

When it comes to ASSOS bib shorts, people often focus on the chamois, but they have so many other great aspects.

For these reasons, I’ve found myself reaching for the ASSOS Mille GT Bib Shorts C2 every morning I head out for a ride.

※By the way, I am 170cm tall, 61kg, and I use size S.
