Wonderful!

A handlebar that is truly worthy of the name "wonderful"—and one I have personally been waiting for—has been released by SimWorks.

Its name is the Wonderer Bar.

When you think of SimWorks drop bars, you likely think of our classic Misirlou Bar, which is loved by so many of you. Compared to that, this new Wonderer Bar features a shallower reach and drop.

The exquisite dimensions—a 78mm reach and 128mm drop—make it easy to handle for riders with smaller hands like myself. It allows for changing grip positions while keeping posture adjustments to a minimum, even during cyclocross or gravel rides. I also really like that the grip ends are designed to be a bit longer, which naturally encourages you to hold the drops.

The width is available in odd-numbered sizes from 370mm to 450mm in 20mm increments, so it's a great choice for riders with a smaller build. For reference, I have a shoulder width of about 370mm and I use the 390mm size. If you're planning to ride gravel or compete in cyclocross races, I recommend going slightly wider than the bars you use on your road bike.

The odd-sized widths might seem a bit eccentric, but they actually feel just right. In any case, I've decided this is the bar I'll be using for this season's CX. (I'm secretly building up a new bike, too.)
