The Tomei POP UP TOUR is back after a long hiatus! This marks our 4th time!
This time, we have planned a pop-up for "TEMBEA", a brand that has collaborated with us on various bespoke projects since the launch of Circles Tokyo.
TEMBEA
TEMBEA is a bag brand that started in 2004.
They propose bags designed for specific purposes—for example, carrying a baguette, books, or toys; or for hauling newspapers, textbooks, or vegetables. Bags intended for specific items or uses.
The bags are made of canvas, aiming for an aesthetic that embraces its inorganic, rustic, and design-forward qualities. A key feature is that they soften and adapt to the user's body the more they are used. In principle, the bags have no dividers or pockets. Their style isn't about the convenience of keeping things in designated spots, but about "freedom of use and comfort"—not dictating how things should be carried.
TEMBEA means "wandering." Owning one makes you want to go somewhere. They continue to create bags as tools that pursue universal beauty, transcending places and eras.
Our last bespoke collaboration featured this roll-up tote bag and stem bag.
The tote bag is sized perfectly for the WALD 137 basket and features Velcro to prevent it from falling out. Its design blends easily into daily life, making it a stellar, versatile piece that works for both everyday errands and cycling.
As for the stem bag, I love that it’s made of canvas, which is rare for this type of product. The way it develops character the more you use it is a charm unique to canvas, don't you think?
I personally use these two models and love them, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who starts wanting something extra special the more they use something. So for this POP-UP, we asked TEMBEA to host a custom order event based on these two models!
You can choose from the two bespoke TEMBEA bag models, then select the base canvas from 8 different colors. Finally, you choose the canvas for the bottom of the bag—which serves as a key accent color—from 8 options to complete your design. With 8 colors × 8 colors, that’s 64 possible combinations!
Please have fun mixing and matching to create a bag that perfectly complements your bike's color scheme or your favorite outfit!
