Gran Compe is one of the brands under DIA COMPE, a bicycle component manufacturer with a tradition spanning over 60 years. As a manufacturer specializing in brakes, the company develops its products with safety and reliability in mind, having started as a rim brake manufacturer in the early Showa era.
In 1965, the all-Japanese “DIA-COMPE” caliper brake was born, utilizing a new forging technology developed in-house.

This rim is part of the “Gran Compe” series offered by DIA-COMPE. Among them, a rare turquoise color—produced in limited quantities at the time—has been unearthed as valuable New Old Stock. Since this special color no longer exists in the current lineup, it’s a rim that’s quite hard to come by these days.
