Since its establishment in 1871, CONTINENTAL has been producing high-performance bicycle tires in Germany, and its high performance has been proven year after year at the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia. The tire structure has been fundamentally redesigned and a thinner, more flexible casing has been developed. The previous model used a 3-layer 180TPI structure, but the new model is based on a 2-layer 220TPI structure, with one additional layer added only to the sidewall portion, making it a 3-layer 330TPI tire with enhanced side cut resistance. As a result, rolling resistance is reduced by 20% and sidewall strength is improved by 28% compared to the GP5000 TL. Furthermore, a weight reduction of 45g has been achieved in the 700x25C size.
In addition, the GP5000 TL has evolved to tubeless-ready specifications compatible with hookless rims.
