Post-recording notes
It seems enjoying ghost stories in summer is pretty much a Japan-only thing. Apparently there's the background that Obon falls in summer, plus a showbusiness ploy from the Edo period, when playhouses ran ghost-story specials as a draw to get people in during the summer. Getting a chill down your spine to feel cool struck me as very Edo, and it turns out that's indeed how it was. by Monja
