Following the previous post, here is the second installment of RIDEALIVE participant introductions!
This time, we’ll give a quick introduction to the people who’ll be joining us!
Although they’re our guests, they’ll actually be participating in the ride just like everyone else, so feel free to strike up a conversation and enjoy the ride together!
The Radavist / John Watson
Joining RIDEALIVE as special guests this time are John Watson, founder of The Radavist, and his partner, Kari, who will also be covering the event!
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Radavist!
We can’t help but feel a deep sense of respect for their media work, which has brought them all the way to Japan to cover this event, and for their shared enthusiasm in the comments about the era of “post-performance cycling.”
They’ll also be taking photos, so we’d better make sure we look cool when they do!

2006 was a magical time in the bike industry with many brands launching that year who have, over time, shaped what our corner of cycling would look like. Circles and The Radavist both began in 2006 and it's safe to say, without these two entities, the world of bikes would look much different. Twenty years have been spent fortifying community in its truest sense and pushing the paradigm of what post-performance cycling looks like. Circles and all its satellite entities, including Sim Works, helps people realize their dreams.
2006 was a miraculous year for the bike industry. Many brands founded that year have, over time, shaped the cycling culture we love.
Circles and The Radavist both got their start in 2006. It’s no exaggeration to say that without these two, the world of bikes would look completely different today.
Over the past 20 years, Circles has strengthened the true meaning of community and pushed the boundaries of post-performance cycling. We believe that Circles and all its related entities, including Sim Works, continue to help people make their dreams a reality.

Papersky / Lucas B.B.
We’re able to hold RIDEALIVE at the Katsuotrail this time thanks to this person. Lucas is the editor-in-chief of the magazine PAPERSKY and runs various projects around it. He’s also well known for the Tour de NIPPON series, where he rides all over Japan.
The Katsuotrail project also got underway when he set up a base in Yaizu. We’re looking forward to chatting about all sorts of things while we’re there.
