Description
Is it super?
Gravel bikes have become immensely popular over the past decade, but one thing has not changed. That is that going out for a ride on a bike that can handle any terrain is a lot of fun.
Sklarbikes' first Taiwan-made production model, the Super Something, is an incredibly versatile platform that meets all of your needs for riding on a variety of surfaces and in a variety of lands. It is an incredibly versatile platform that can grow and change with the rider's riding stylE
In designing hundreds of custom bikes as Sklarbikes, builder Adam has discovered that the tools for the specific job of building a custom He discovered that no tool exists for the job. Many one-off bikes passed from Adam's hands to their owners to try out new shapes, parts, and ideas, and while that was of course fun, it was something that was completed on the fly.
But in fact those bikes seemed to be generally built all-purpose bikes. Bikes that could be enjoyed as the seasons changed, sometimes reborn with new handlebars, new tires, and new setups.
Adam wanted to make bikes that were "for everyone," that could be easily obtained rather than custom-ordered "for a specific person," so he used different tubing for each size and original dropouts and head tubes to create what Adam considers to be Sklarbikes. The Super Something is a production model made in Taiwan with different size tubing, original dropouts and headtubes to meet Adam's Sklarbikes' quality standards.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
We kept it as simple as possiblE
Generally speaking, a "gravel bike" is somewhere between a road bike and a mountain bike with fat tires. This bike is positioned at just about 40% of that.
It is not designed to be completely closer to an MTB, because the road bike geometry has the fun of going places, even far away, that you never thought you could go. That said, I'm not turning a blind eye to the evolution of bicycle geometry over the past few years. In general, these bikes have a slightly longer reach, and are designed for comfortable handling with a 60-90mm stem. Depending on where you want to ride and what you want to try, you can go with larger or smaller tires.
Trends come and go, but this frame is set up to last and designed to handle the standards you've always relied on.

FIT GUIDE
Super Something is designed with versatility in mind, and we consider a 700x42c gravel tire with a 70mm stem (SimWorks Anna Lee Stem is Adam's recommendation) and drop bar as the basic design.
Each size is designed to fit as indicated, with the standard set to allow a comfortable position by combining a 70mm stem for the range of recommended saddle heights. In other words, if you normally ride a 54cm size frame, a 54cm frame will fit you, and if you ride a 56cm frame, a 56cm frame will fit you.
Some riders may prefer to size down and use a longer stem and seat post for a more aggressive roadie fit. We also recommend using a longer 90-100mm stem for riser bar or flat bar setups, or going up one frame size if drop bars are not used.
For reference, the expected saddle height (BB center to saddle top) for each size is as follows
48cm: 640mm-680mm
- 52cm: 660mm-700mm
- 54cm: 690mm-740mm
- 56cm: 720mm-760mm
- 58cm: 750mm-790mm
