Cielo, the successor to CHRIS KING's philosophy, is back!
Chris King is based in Portland, Oregon. Cielo, which means "sky" in Spanish, is a brand that faced the essence of bicycle tools head-on with a light and sincere philosophy. Cielo was a brand that faced the essence of the bicycle as a tool with a light and sincere philosophy.
Although the production of Cielo frames was regrettably discontinued in 2017, the remaining frames are not mere "dead stock," but rather they are the existence of the ideals and dreams that Chris King himself had, and the sincere time spent by the craftsmen he worked with. In order to reaffirm the value of these frames and bring them back to the modern age, we have launched the Cielo frame restoration project with the official approval of Chris King.
The three models that have been restored are the Sportif Classic, Sportif, and Cross Classic. However, many of the stored frames were missing forks and needed to be supplemented. So, respecting the technology and philosophy of the time, we attempted to faithfully reproduce them at our affiliated workshop in Japan, using the original stainless steel end parts manufactured by Chris King and blade tubes made by Columbus.
The finish was then wet-painted by Circles' own painting division, Sphere Paint, to bring them to life as "accessories" that go beyond mere coloring. The three revived frames, each with its own distinct character, share the same lightness and sincerity that are typical of Cielo. This is a very special re-creation, the beginning of the 21st century vintage.
The Sportif was created by merging two models from the lineup at the time, the Sportif Classic and the Sportif Racer.
It is compatible with tires up to 700x32c and can be fitted with racks and fenders. The beautiful fillet brazing and Cielo's signature construction make it a pleasure to ride and own at the same time.
This release is available in Men's 47 / 57 and Women's 49 sizes.
