Ross Shaffer founded SALSA CYCLES in California in the early 1980s. Initially, SALSA focused on producing custom frames and stems, but in 1997, the brand itself was acquired by QBP (Quality Bicycle Products), a giant Minnesota-based bicycle wholesaler, and QBP became a simple bicycle manufacturer. It was the catalyst for our transformation from a bicycle parts wholesaler to a bicycle brand.
Today, SALSA CYCLES manufactures a wide range of finished bicycles, including Touring, Mountain, Road and Gravel, as well as bicycle components. In addition, together with SALSA's sister brands, SURLY BIKES and ALL CITY CYCLES,not race specificIt is a brand with an important role that plays a corner of the bicycle market.
