Neoprene Coating|What is neoprene coating?
A weather-resistant neoprene material is applied to the tire's side casing during the manufacturing process. Due to its extremely thin coating, it extends tire life without sacrificing tubular tire suppleness which is a concern.
11 Storm | What is Eleven Storm?
Hutchison's newly developed tire tread compound. It is a high-performance compound that improves the performance of all elements required for tires such as reduced rolling resistance, increased grip, improved puncture resistance and durability in the tire tread.
In Dugas, this Eleven Storm is adopted as a classic cyclocross tire from Typhoon, Rhino, and Pipisquallo.wout van aert, toon arts,In partnership with Lawrence Sweek and other top racers in the CX world, we have repeatedly conducted actual battle tests since last season.
Test results showed feedback of lower rolling resistance, more grip, and improved driving performance compared to conventional treads. Specifically, this means that the same feeling of running can be achieved even with an air pressure setting that is one step higher than the usual setting. In other words, it also leads to the advantage that the risk of puncture is low.
■ Precautions for use
The neoprene coating is very thin and does not affect the functionality and comfort of the tubular, but maintenance is essential for long-term use.
- It is important to always wash with water and detergent after use.
- However, do not use oil-based cleaners such as degreasers.
- After washing, please dry indoors avoiding ultraviolet rays.
Of course, it is possible to protect the tire side with Aquasure. If you do not wash your tires after use, we recommend using Aquasure.
■ About the base tape
In recent years, the rim width used in cyclocross crosses tends to be wider and wider. In fact, it is necessary to choose the tire base tape (fundoshi) according to the rim width. An inappropriate combination of rim width and base tape width increases the risk of tire detachment due to insufficient tire adhesion, which can lead to punctures and damage.
