RAWLOW MOUNTAIN WORKS is a mountain gear brand founded by two designers—both hikers and cyclists—with the concept of “for all hikers who love mountains and nature.” Never forgetting their initial impulse to design things they want to use themselves, their product line is infused with the spirit of “creating only what we want to create,” with each piece carrying a specific message from them.

Hillary Wallet 02 is one of the first wallet series from RAWLOW MOUNTAIN WORKS (RLMW): a user-friendly long wallet with a zip-around closure. The leather used is 3M waterproof leather, making it a serious piece of gear that can be used without hesitation in both the mountains and the city.

What RLMW aimed for was to go “from mountain huts to 3-star restaurants.” Although many brands have released wallets for hikers in recent years, RLMW says they have been thinking about a “mountain wallet” for about five years. They mentioned that during several rounds of sample production, they couldn’t shake the feeling that something just wasn’t right, and the project effectively hit a dead end. However, last year, they had a breakthrough when they decided to shift their mindset slightly and return to their roots; from there, they say the Hillary Wallet was completed at a breakneck speed.

This leather wallet is carefully crafted one by one by skilled domestic wallet artisans. The moment you pick it up, its high quality and delicate craftsmanship are immediately apparent. It is a product with reliable quality that holds its own against luxury brand wallets, one that becomes more comfortable and cherished the more you use it, with a waterproof leather construction that makes it versatile enough for everything from daily life to outdoor adventures.

The front of the wallet features the RLMW logo in silver foil stamping, reflecting a meticulous attention to the delicacy of the foil.

Additionally, it is embossed with a quote from Sir Edmund Hillary, the legendary mountaineer who was the first to successfully reach the summit of Mount Everest and the namesake of the Hillary Wallet. It is a delicate expression possible only thanks to the high-quality leather. The quote relates to both money and mountaineering, and Hillary is also the only mountaineer to have his portrait featured on a banknote (in New Zealand).
