The Nine Trail West Bag is a waist bag with a drop-down opening (a drawbridge-like mechanism) that provides quick access to essential gear for bike riding, running and hiking. Keeping in mind that you will spend a long time on the trail, it is shaped to be wrapped around your waist to improve stability without being bulky, and it is possible to keep the center of gravity low even during intense riding. The drop-down opening in the front pocket is convenient for storing toolkits, inflator pumps and action foods, and the internal mesh partition keeps the contents in place. It is also possible to push a pad or a spare layer into the pocket to pack it. The main compartment contains a 1.5 liter HydraPak water pack that holds spare tubes, rain jackets, and snacks to eat at the summit. Two outer stretch pockets hold additional water bottles, and compression straps can be used to attach extra gear. The monomesh back panel is the most breathable design in Patagonia's history to prevent water buildup. The padded waist belt with perforated foam comfortably places the pack in the lower center of the back and fits snugly on the waist even on steep descents where you sweat in your hands. With pockets for convenient storage of essentials, the displaced buckle is comfortable when riding. The material is lightweight yet durable 4.2 oz 210 denier 100% ripstop cordura nylon with a 3.3 oz 200 denier 100% polyester lining. Both materials have a polyurethane coating and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.
